I use word when it comes to MLA and APA format, otherwise I don't know too much. I've seen my teachers use it to type notes on while we scribble away. I know they make tests with word. Or maybe some test multiple choice scrambling software. Many teachers use the power point function which I feel lacks luster. I remember my first year in college and I would wonder why the teacher would not make use of the smart boards that cost so much money. They were not equipped with the skills thats why!

I have no experience with copyright, except for citations in bibliographies. It would be ideal for me to have all original material as a teacher but I feel as though I would take too long in the process. I do not have money to pay for using other's creative work, so I can only cite. I  understand that photocopying may be considered criminal. Fair use seems pretty nice as it benefits nonprofit organizations. My personal ideas are that knowledge should be accessible!

As we age as a society, we attain new knowledge, and life and education are moving so fast that its hard to live a life in modern day America where one does not face technology. Its the future! There are touch screen soda vending machines, who needs that? Maybe I am sounding old fashioned which is funny because I like to think I'm hip. Ease of managing classes is a good reason for teachers to implement technological assignments for their students. This elicits a good way of transferring knowledge. For instance, we can now make presentations with group mates we never meet. It is now becoming requirements for students in high school to have the proper proficiency for technology as it is for language learning. It is also a great way to communicate, my middle school cousin gets text reminders from her teacher so she doesn't complete her work late.

The ISTE standards show desired qualities which consider technological ability and ways we can attain it. I liked reading the most about creativity as I feel creative and I am a rather "manual" type of person. One that I feel I might struggle with is the role of the facilitator. I believe that we should facilitate agency for our students, but in practice it is a bit harder especially with an older crowd. When a group has been taught just to repeat what is told and learn by rote, how can we implement autonomy better?

I think I can agree with the definitions of digital native and immigrant but term choice could be better. One is considered a native when one is born during/after technology's rise. I would be one of those. You could say my parents are but they were born before the boom in accessibility. I remember going crazy when teachers would type google searches with unnecessary words, but I just might know as little as them in comparison to my tech savvy 12 year old cousin. I didn't learn ctrl + f until I was in college! I could have been a better student.

In the fourth grade, when I should have been taking computer/typing classes-- I was taking violin classes instead. I learned how to read the language of music when I missed learning the language of code with my peers. Aside from educational PC games and web forums I don't have much tech savvy. I can find my way around social media, but I would not say that I'm the ripest when it comes to finding my way around my computer. I also have experience with Word (when it is in MLA or APA format) because of the school environment.

I think that just by being enrolled in this class am I making progress. I want to be able to use technology as efficiently as it allows me to. I feel as though technology is already a convenient thing for me, if I knew my ins an outs, it would probably feel something super human for me. I am enticed by lynda dot com because I want to learn the ropes of ableton live, the music program. Music is very important to me. I feel cleansed when I listen to sweet melodies, and how liberating would it be for me to make my own! It's funny that even with this computer class I still want to learn music. I also wonder if we'll learn anything about typing. My typing is sort of embarrassing, because I don't use my fingers as much as I should.

As for printing my screen, I press command + p on Mac and ctrl + p on the PC. I can also use the grab or snippet app. Here is a picture that I have taken. I know what I said I did was done correctly, but I am also not sure if this is what is being asked for.
